Geographical Landscape area and Climate
Covering a combined land area of approximately 345 square kilometers, the USVI islands are characterized by rugged coastlines, verdant hillsides, and pristine white-sand beaches. The territory enjoys a tropical climate moderated by trade winds, with average temperatures ranging from the mid-70s to mid-80s Fahrenheit year-round and a rainy season from September through November. Major tourism areas include Magens Bay on Saint Thomas often listed among the world’s most beautiful beaches and the Virgin Islands National Park on Saint John, which preserves nearly two-thirds of that island’s land area. The islands are also celebrated internationally for their coral reefs, which draw snorkelers and scuba divers eager to explore vibrant marine ecosystems.
